So my best friend Kathryn had a beautiful baby boy last week. He's so darn cute! Of course I took the opportunity to practice some stuff with newborns I've been wanted to try for some time. That's what best friends are for, right? I've been admiring the work of a photographer named Kelley Ryden for quite some time now and decided I wanted to try her posing techniques.
After about an hour of getting Vance relaxed we started in with our experiment. Here's what we decided about these posing techniques: not humanly possible! How does she do it?! We do not understand. The closest we got was the second image you see in this post- and I got this only after removing Kathryn's hand from the image. For an image more representative of our session please see the last one in this post (I'll wait until you look at it)......... That one in particular makes me laugh every time! The experiment was by no means a complete failure- we did get some darn cute images. But the mystery of Ms. Ryden's posing techniques still alludes me. I vow to one day figure it out!
Oh, and thank you Vance for being such a good sport. I'm sure it can't be fun to be bent in half molded into unnatural poses only to flop down on a bean bag.
